Chapstick

Have you ever stopped to think about chap stick. I'm one of those people who has to have a tube of chap stick with me all winter long kind of like a security blanket type thing. In my nightstand I probably have two tubes of chap stick and also in my desk, my purse, and sitting in my moms car. But the strange thing is they never get finished. They get lost or dropped or they just magically disappear. Finally I finished an entire tube of chap stick. I used it like three times a day since the beginning of winter for the most part. You don't realize every time you use it that it gets less ad less until the one day you go to roll up the tube and nothing comes out. It may seem like a very insignificant achievement but it takes a while and its near to impossible to hold on to chap stick for so long.

One item down.

This past weekend I completed one of the items on my bucket list! This was really exciting because for a while I've been procrastinating. I actually typed my first post "Explanations" a few weeks ago but I didn't post it. I just had it saved as a draft for a while because i knew the minute I posted that I would have to really start focusing on my bucket list items so I just kept putting it off.

Anyway, the item that I completed was throw a surprise party for someone. Last week was my mom's birthday (January 31) .  My dad had the idea to throw a surprise party for her. I just have to say it is a lot harder than I expected. Of course it was my dads job to do things like call people to invite them and get a reservation but I did all the dirty work (figuratively). It is really hard to come up with excuses on the spot on why you need to look through your moms contact list or why its so important that we go out to eat at a specific time. I spent the whole week answering my mom's questions with "um...." or "I don't know".  To be honest though it was worth it when we got to the resturaunt and everyone yelled surprise. I could tell through her blushing that she was touched. I just have to say thank goodness I checked this item off the list though. A lot of effort was needed and I'm not sure if I'd be willing to do it all again.

Explanations.

Hi my name's Emily. I started this blog as part of my ROGATE (gifted and talented) class. The assignment is that we use 20% of our school week to learn more about a topic we are interested in. So basically thst means every Friday. My project is a bucket list. I made a bucket list of ideas that aren't too extreme like climb a mountain or rescue a tiger but the items are still supposed to be significant. Each week I'll choose an item from the list and try to complete. As I'm completing each item I'll document the process by taking pictures and maybe video taping certain momentss whichever is more appropriate. Then I'll post it all here on my blog. I chose this because I noticed that everyone says "i want to do that one day" but most of the time they never get done. Its sasd to think that its all dreaming and you never actually do anything. I think this bucket list is a good way for me to stop saying "one day..."
